Are you tired of those pesky fruit flies that buzz around your kitchen - or any other part of your house?
Have you tried smooshing them with your hand or, swatting them with a fly swatter with no success? And, they just keep on coming back! Ugghhh! - I hate it when that happens!
I don't want to use any of those chemical pesticides - that should be labelled humanicides (I'm not sure if that's a word - but you know what I mean). So, what can I do?
Well, luckily I found a solution! And it's simple and cheap - like me!
Here's what you do:
Get a small container, a bowl, a cup, a baby food jar- whatever you have handy. Put some apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar in it. Just enough for the little fruit flies to have a nice swim. Put a couple drops of dishwashing soap in it and mix it up. Set your swimming hole of doom out where you see the fruit flies. In a day or two you will have the remains of a fruit fly pool party that you can pour down the drain.

For those of you who are opposed to killing the little blighters here is a blog that shows you how to do it with a funnel and a jar. Happy hunting!
Get your hands dirty!
Thanks for this tip Matt. I hate those little buggers.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to give that a try. I have traps I bought that sort of work but I still always have them, especially around my worm bins in the basement.
